What is this? Kinetic Sculpture in Place is a virtual event adaptation of the Kinetic Grand Championship. To learn more about the Kinetic Grand Championship click here. This year, we will be producing the Race as a one-day, televised competition, broadcast on Access Humboldt and the Kinetic Universe YouTube channel (click here to subscribe). There are new challenges that keep the spirit of the Kinetic Grand Championship alive, and have something for everyone.

Who can play? You! This year, we have created a challenge matrix with enough options that anyone can participate. If you’re not a builder, you can draw a sculpture, if you’re not an engineer, you can choreograph a dance routine. This is a great year for a newbie to be a part of the competition and get some glory!

How do I sign up? Register here. You’ll get an email after you register to let you know the next steps. Pick what challenges you and your team will take on. Create a 1-3 minute video for each challenge you select and send them to the link you receive when you register. Videos are due by May 8. Then, tune into the Kinetic Sculpture in Place livestream to find out if your team has won any trophies!
